I’ve had several productive meetings this week with the White County Road Crew, our City Engineer, and construction managers who specialize in infrastructure development. We’ve been working on plans to improve drainage along S. Fir Street and throughout the Southfork Subdivision.
New elliptical culverts are on order to better manage stormwater at the original subdivision entrance.
Additionally, gravel has been packed and is ready for paving over the new box culvert at Baldwin Drive. A project which was made possible through hazard mitigation grant funding that we applied for early last year through my office.
I know drainage has been a concern for many residents, and I appreciate your patience as we continue making improvements. Step by step, we’re investing in infrastructure to make our community more resilient for the long term.
We will continue pursuing funding opportunities and available resources and have most recently applied to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division.
